Amitabh’s abdominal surgery legacy of ‘Coolie’ accident: Abhishek

Abhishek Bachchan, son of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, has informed that his father’s upcoming abdominal surgery Saturday is a legacy of his 1982 accident on the sets of “Coolie” movie.

“Paa is going in for a medical procedure. It is the legacy of his ’82 accident which we have been rectifying over the years. It’s something we are very confident about, he will be fine, keep praying and I am sure he will be perfectly fine. He has always come out of it well,” said Abhishek who also informed that the surgery will take place in Mumbai.

Amitabh was critically injured on July 26, 1982 in the intestines while filming a fight scene for “Coolie” with co-star Puneet Issar.

The senior Bachchan had revealed about the upcoming surgery on his blog bigb.bigadda.com.

“…This is being disclosed to the Ef (extended family) at this point of time — a surgery that I shall be undergoing on the 11th morning. I do not wish to talk much on my medical condition, but trust and faith in my FmXt (extended family) allows me to do so,” Amitabh wrote on his blog.
