Joyce Meyer conducts lifestyle classes in Kolkata

Kolkata : The iconic Brigade Parade ground in Kolkata witnessed a different evening on Thursday as popular American ‘Lifestyle Guru’ Joyce Meyer taught citizens the mantra to change their lifestyle.

On the first day of the conference titled ‘Festival of Life 2010’, Joyce mostly shared the pathways by which a person can find ‘hope’ and move towards achieving a ‘better lifestyle’.

“I want you people to have a new beginning,” she said.”He (God) has created you and He will recreate you.”

An interesting thing about her teaching lies in the way Joyce teaches on multiple subjects based on her experiences and the manner in which she applies Bible to every facets of life; and Thursday was no exception.

Joyce said that she had a very traumatic past and she was abused by her father and first husband.

She believes that it was God’s words that had helped her forgive them.

A huge crowd that had assembled on the Brigade ground on Thursday, felt the experience of hearing her speech to be an exceptional one.

“She (Joyce) is an amazing person. Hearing her for the first time is great,”said Vishal Tupper, who joined her first ‘class’.

“Every citizen of Bengal should realize the love of God; she (Joyce) is carrying out the commission that Jesus is showing,”said another Kolkatan R,Pandey.

“Fantastic, amazing, every day you hear lots of messages, but there are some that touches you. I felt it tonight,” one Ujjwal Dev reacted after the event.

Joyce is regarded to be one of the leading Bible teachers in the world.

She has her own syndicated television and radio programme named ‘Enjoying Everyday Life’. New York Time’s Best Seller author also has a magazine by the same name.

This conference is the first East Indian conference that Joyce is holding and she will continue ‘Festival of Life 2010’ from Oct 21-24 and will teach Kolkatans the importance of overcoming difficulties of life.
