25 Aug ’14 : Ind vs Eng 1st ODI : Rain forces India-England ODI to be abandoned
Bristol : The first of the five One-Day Internationals (ODI) between India and England to be played at the County Ground here Monday was cancelled due to heavy rain.
The match was abandoned without a ball being bowled or even the toss taking place.
The second ODI will be held at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff Wednesday
It has been raining heavily since Sunday night and chances are that the match could get curtailed.
Rain Update at 2:35 pm IST : The start of the 1st ODI at the County Ground in Bristol will see an indefinite delay because of persistent rain. Even the toss hasnot been done because of the heavy drizzle. This ground doesnot have floodlights so even if it stops raining, the match cannot get underway if the sky stays gloomy.
