World Cup Final: Sachin-Murali in clash of titans

As Mumbai gets ready to stage the India-Sri Lanka final of the World Cup 2011 Saturday, all eyes are set on the fight between the two cricketing gods- master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and the rubber armed Muttiah Muralitharan.

While Sachin is on the verge of completing his 100th International century, Muttiah will be seen playing his last One Day International for the country on Saturday.

This is their last World Cup and they are facing each other for the last time in such a tournament.

The entire world is awaiting to watch the clash between these two titans who have dominated the world of cricket for a long period of time .

While Sachin has dominated the world with his bat, Murali is the highest wicket taker in the world at present, hence both the captains- M S Dhoni and Kumar Sangakkara – will expect these two men to perform at the high voltage World Cup final and lift the cup for them.

Owing to injury Murali was doubtful, but the Sri Lanka coach Trevor Bayliss said he would play.

Murali has 534 wickets from the One Day International matches and it was against India at Sharjah where he had bowled exceptionally well and picked up seven wickets by giving away only 30 runs, his career best figures.

On the other hand Sachin Tendulkar has 18093 runs in One Day International which in itself porves his ability with the bat.

On Saturday, both Sangakkara and Dhoni will expect these two players to fire for the side.
