India beat Sri Lanka by five wickets in the third one-day international cricket match at the R Premadasa stadium here Saturday to lead the five-match series 2-1.

Chasing 287 for victory, Gautam Gambhir struck a brilliant 102 off 101 balls while Suresh Rania scored an unbeaten 65 off 45 balls to take India to victory with two balls to spare.

Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat against India in the third One-day International at the Premadasa Stadium here Saturday.
