West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be keeping major portfolios to herself, while allocating the rest to her new council of ministers.
After a late night meeting with her new cabinet on Friday, Banerjee decided to keep nine departments to herself-Home, Land and Land Reforms, Information and Cultural Affairs, Health and Family Welfare, Agriculture, Hill Affairs, Minority Affairs and Madrasa Education, Personnel and Administrative Reforms, and Power.
Banerjee took oath as the eleventh Chief Minister of West Bengal on Friday and gained control of Writers’ Buildings, the red-painted edifice of power in the heritage hub of Kolkata.
