Sri Lanka beat Canada by 210 runs

Sri Lanka dominated the third game of the World Cup both with bat and ball as they defeated Canada by 210 runs here on Sunday.

Batting first Sri Lanka piled up a massive total of 332 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their quota of 50 overs with Mahela Jayawardene scoring a brilliant century.

Jayawardene scored his century in just 81 deliveries.

He hit 9 boundaries and an over boundary in his well crafted innings of 100 runs.

He was well supported by Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara
who missed the three figure mark by 8 runs.

He was dismissed by Davison at his personal score of 92 runs.

Opener Tillakaratne Dilshan (50) and Tharanga (19) had given a much needed start to Sri Lanka as they lost their first wicket at 63 runs.

Chasing 333 for victory Canadian batsmen found it too difficult to handle the Sri Lankan bowlers.

Canadian innings came to an end at 122 runs with Rizwan Cheema (37) remaining the top scorer.

Nuwan Kulasekara and Thisara Perera remained the pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers as both of them picked 3 wickets each in the match.
