Eastern Railway to run summer social trains

Eastern Railway will run as many as 168 Summer Special trains this year during the period from 8 April to 30 June.

To clear the summer rush, 24 Summer Special trains will run on each direction like Kolkata-Delhi Weekly Superfast Spl, Kolkata-Kathgodam Weekly Superfast Special, Kolkata-Raxaul Weekly Express, Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Weekly Spl., Howrah-Mumbai Weekly Summer Special (via Dankuni-Mughalsarai-Jabalpur), Asansol-Alipurduar Jn. Weekly Special and Bhagalpur-New Delhi Weekly Superfast Special.

Thus, Eastern Railway will generate a total number of 118416 extra berths by running special trains this year for the convenience of the people. In all the Summer Special trains, AC classes will also be available.

Booking in all the Summer Special trains will be available from all the Computerized Railway reservation offices on and from 20 February for Up direction only. Tatkal reservation facilities will be available for booking in AC 2-tier, Ac 3-tier and Sleeper Class coaches in all the summer special trains.

Last year, Eastern Railway ran 120 Summer Special trains.
