17 killed in bus accident in Maharashtra

At least 17 pilgrims, including nine women, were killed and nearly 30 others injured when their bus fell off a bridge in Maharashtra?s Buldana district in the wee hours on Thursday.

Official sources said that the accident occurred on the Nanganga bridge, near Tandulwadi village, in Malkapur town.

The bus was on its way back from Shirdi and Shani Shingnapur to Nagpur.

Most of the people on the bus were from Wardha district.

The driver and conductor of the bus were also among those killed.

The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
