Deccan Chargers beat RCB by 33 runs
Deccan Chargers registered a victory in their home as they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 33 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here on Thursday night at the league stage match of Indian Premiere League (IPL).
Batting first Deccan scored 175 runs for the loss of five wickets with Bharat Chipili making unbeaten 61 runs with his willow.
He hit five boundaries and three massive sixes in the match.
Zaheer Khan remained the pick of the RCB bowlers as he picked up three wickets by giving away only 32 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
Chasing the target of 176 for victory, the Deccan batsmen kept on losing wickets at regular intervals.
Apart from Virat Kohli (71) none could give the RCB bowlers any sort of challenge in the match.
Deccan could only manage a score of 142 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their quota of 20 overs.
DW Steyn and Gony shared 3 wickets each in the match.
Steyn was named the player of the match after the game.
