23 die after boat sinks in Bangladesh river

At least 23 people died and scores of people are still missing after a boat capsized in Meghna river near Dhaka on Thursday.

The ferry was carrying over 100 passengers when it hit another boat on the river at Brahmanbaria and sank.

After the accident, many passengers swam their way to the shore, while rescuers said 23 people have drowned.

The death toll is expected to rise, they said.
