Kate-Prince William exchange vows today

The D-day is finally here as the much awaited marriage between Prince William and her long term friend Kate Middleton will take place on Friday at the iconic Westminster Abbey.

Thousands of people have gathered around Central London to witness this fairytale royal marriage that will take place around 11 am (local time) in the morning, media reports said.

With so many rehearsals arranged for the perfect staging of the marriage, Westminster Abbey has been transformed into a flowering avenues of trees with each flower precisely chosen and decorated.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have chosen London-based floral designer Shane Connolly to create the floral displays for their wedding on Apr 29.

Connolly has directed a team of florists, including Westminster Abbey’s and Buckingham Palace’s florists, and florists individually chosen by the high profile couple to create the floral displays at the Abbey and for Buckingham Palace that will make their marriage all the more important.

Prince William is reported to wear a red tunic of an Irish Guards colonel on this very important day of his life. But the attire of the bride is still under the wraps.

Despite all the arrangements, met office reported that there are chances of heavy shower in London at the later part of the day although the morning will remain dry, media reports said.

On Thursday, the 28 year-old Prince William went to meet with a large crowd of well wishers who had gathered outside the palace on the processional route to witness the much talked about marriage of the year.

The long list of guests who are invited to be a part of the important day of William and Kate?s life includes names like singer Elton John, footballer David Beckham, actor Rowan Atkinson, filmmaker Guy Ritchie, swimmer Ian Thorpe and Gareth Thomas.

Around 5,000 police officers will be on duty on Friday and look after the security of this high profile marriage ceremony.

After the marriage, the partying will commence with around 650 people being invited for a luncheon with the queen, and later in the night 300 close friends and family are supposed to attend a black-tie evening bash.
