Delhi Daredevils finish last in IPL
Delhi Daredevils finished bottom of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after heavy rains forced the abandonment of their last league game against Pune Warriors India at the Ferozeshah Kotla here on Saturday.
Daredevils were 56 for three from 10.1 overs when the rain gods came down heavily.
Both Daredevils and Pune Warriors finished with nine points but Delhi had to be satisfied with the wodden spoon on the basis of poor net run rate.
The visitors were clearly in control of the match and Colin Ingram (13) and Venugopal Rao (0) were at the crease when skies opened up.
Pune Warriors India bowlers produced a good bowling performance to dismiss the Daredevils openers early.
Daredevils skipper James Hopes had won the toss and elected to bat in their last IPL clash. They made couple of changes as Colin Ingram and Matthew Wade were in and all the other seamers were playing except for Morne Morkel.
Pune Warriors replaced Jesse Ryder and Wayne Parnell with James Faulkner and Mitchell Marsh.
