Punjab students injured in school firing incident

At least four students were injured Thursday in a clash between two groups of school students in Punjab during which one group also fired at the other, police said.

A police official said two students of Government Senior Secondary School at Bhagalikalan, in Majitha town, 40 km from here, were seriously injured when two students from the second group, who had brought a home-made pistol, fired at them following the clash.

The official in Majitha said the clash was a result of an altercation between two groups of senior students of classes 11th and 12th. The students first clashed inside the class with hockey sticks and again in the school campus.

“Two students took out a home-made pistol and fired at the other group. We are investigating the matter and will catch the culprits soon,” the police official said.
