Bihar student’s kidnappers demand Rs.10 mn ransom
A ransom of Rs.10 million has been demanded for the release of a school student kidnapped from Bihar’s capital, his family members said Thursday even as police remain clueless more than a week after the abduction.
Aditya Raj, the son of a farmer and a student of Class 12 in a Patna school, was kidnapped Feb 23 from near Moinulhaque Stadium here.
“We have received a ransom call twice in the last seven days,” said Aditya’s elder brother Sumit Kumar, who had lodged a case of kidnapping at Bahadurpur police station here.
Sumit told IANS that kidnappers have threatened to kill Aditya if ransom was not paid soon.
Police earlier refused to register a case but now say search operations are on.
Aditya is the son of a farmer in Kesaria in East Champaran district. “Aditya and Sumit were staying in a lodge to study for competitive examinations,” police said.
Police suspect Aditya’s friend Sonu to be behind his abduction.
