Jharkhand budget for 2012-13 pegged at Rs.37,113 crore
Jharkhand Deputy Chief Minister Hemant Soren Thursday tabled a Rs.37,113 crore budget for the 2012-2013 financial year in the state assembly, focussing on economic and social infrastructure.
The budget envisages building roads, irrigation, education and energy facilities. The state government has allocated Rs.2,100 crore for road construction, Rs.1,950 crore for irrigation, Rs.1,400 crore for education, Rs.1,178 crore for energy.
The tax on kerosene oil has been reduced from five per cent to two per cent. There will be no entry taxes on bidi and kendu (tendu) leaves.
Of the total budget, Rs.18,709 crore and Rs.18,404 crore have been allocated for plan and non-plan expenditure respectively. The plan budget includes central assistance of Rs.2,400 crore.
