Refreshed version of Ford Fiesta hatchback, which was unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show and currently being sold in European markets, might soon land in to India as well.
The car has been doing test runs in India for quite some time and there were speculations around that the car might launch in India any time around.
To confirm things, we contacted our trusted sources in the Industry and as per them; the Fiesta hatchback will be rolled out in India in the first quarter of 2013, to be precise in February or March. And will be positioned right above the company’s flagship hatchback the Figo that as well has received a facelift recently.
We are expecting the new Ford Fiesta hatchback to have the similar award winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine as EcoSport, which belts out an impressive power output of 99bhp and promises to return the class-leading mileage.
The Fiesta’s face gets the trapezoidal front grille, bracketed by laser-cut headlamps with daytime running lamps that use LED technology, and features a power-dome bonnet design. What more features the upcoming Ford Fiesta hatchback will come up with include Active City Stop Emergency Assistance; Sync Voice activated multimedia system with USB and Bluetooth. It also mutes audio until seat belts are fastened and ensures driver aids, safety systems and more vigorous alerts cannot be deactivated when used.
As far as the pricing of the vehicle is concerned, we are expecting it to come in a range between 6 and 8 lakh to compete against the Hyundai i20 and Volkswagen Polo.
Ford India had announced to launch 8 new products in the Indian auto market by 2015, new Ford Fiesta was the first of those 8 products, the much awaited Ford EcoSport compact SUV will be the next to come in, and the Ford Fiesta hatchback will be the third vehicle to make its presence in the sub-continent.
