Four sent to jail for kidnapping boy in Gurgaon

Gurgaon  : Three taxi drivers and a TV channel’s cameraman were Wednesday sent to judicial custody on charges of kidnapping a Border Security Force (BSF) trooper’s minor son, police said.

Drivers Ajit Singh and Ravinder Singh alias Lala, both residents of Bhondsi village in Gurgaon, were arrested Monday.

The alleged mastermind, Sanjay Rathore, a cameraman with a national TV channel, and another cab driver Vijay Singh alias Tinku were arrested Tuesday night.

All four were produced before a court here and sent to jail for 14 days, Assistant Commissioner of Police Hitesh Yadav told IANS.

A white colour car used in the crime was recovered, Tadav said.

Prince Raghav, 8, a Class 3 student and son of BSF trooper Vinod Singh, was abducted from outside his house in Bhondsi village Saturday morning.

He returned home around 9.30 a.m. after escaping from the window of a room where he was held in captivity by the accused, police said.

“As some of the accused were known to the victim, they had plans to kill him after collecting the ransom,” said police.

The kidnappers made a ransom call to the boy’s house demanding Rs.5 lakh.
