15 Killed, 18 Injured in Andhra Pradesh Accident

Hyderabad, Oct 17: On Saturday, in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district, a mini truck carrying a marriage party collided head-on with a bus in which minimum of 15 people were killed and 18 injured, police said.

The accident took place near Y. Charolapalem village of Valetivaripalem mandal in Prakasam district of south coastal Andhra, 360 km from here.

The mini truck was heading from Kandukuru to Malakonda and suddenly rammed into the private bus coming from opposite direction.  Fortunately, there were no passengers in the private bus that caught fire due to the collision.

The impact of the collision was that both the vehicles fell off the road.

Police said both the vehicles were apparently moving at a very high speed. While 14 people died on the spot, one succumbed at Kandukuru Hospital.
