Eight people die of swine flu; toll rises to 374

Eight more persons have died of swine flu in the country, taking the toll from the disease to 374 as 146 new cases of the viral infection were reported, according to Health Ministry figures on Thursday.

Three deaths were reported on Thursday from Karnataka and one from Maharashtra. Two deaths each from the two states which had taken place earlier were confirmed on Thursday to be H1N1 cases by the respective health departments, an official spokesperson said in New Delhi.
