Delhi’s temperature at 52-year high
In grip of an unprecedented heat wave, Delhi on Saturday saw the temperature soaring to 43.7 degree Celsius, a 52-year high for the month of April.
The maximum was eight degrees above normal for this time of the year and also the highest of this season.
The low also recorded a high for the month at 26.5 degree Celsius, six degrees above normal.
“Today’s maximum is the highest for the past 52 years,” B P Yadav, Meteorological Department Director said.
The previous highest was on 27th April 1958 when the mercury touched 43.6 degree Celsius. Saturday?s minimum was also the highest during this month.
