Nitish Kumar convenes meeting to discuss Maoist mayhem
Facing the heat from the red rebels, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday summoned an all party meeting here on Saturday to elicit views on hostage crisis in Lakhisarai district where four policemen abducted by the Maoists of whom one was killed.
“The chief minister has called an all-party meeting at the state secretariat here tomorrow (Saturday) to discuss the situation and evolve consensus on this (Maoist) issue,” an official spokesman said.
The meeting would begin at 4 pm.
The RJD-LJP combine has accused the chief minister of failing to handle the crisis and urged the government to hold an all-party meeting on the issue.
Meantime, a report from Lakhisarai said the combined forces on Friday launched a fresh search operation to find out three policemen, being held hostage by the rebels.
