Australia out for 428 as Zaheer scalps 5

Mohali, Punjab : India edged past some resolute batting by tailenders of Australian side on Saturday to bowl out the visitors for 428 runs in the last session of the second day of the first cricket Test match being played here.

India’s only fit pacer Zaheer Khan continued with good form into the second day and scalped two more wickets on Saturday, claiming his 10th five-wicket haul in his test career.

Starting at overnight score of 224 for 5, the Australian batsmen showed some resistance and went on to score vital runs for the side.

Tim Paine scored a test best 92, including a crucial 54 runs partnership for a ninth wicket with Ben Hilfenhaus (20 not out).

India’s danger man Zaheer finally showed Paine the way back to the pavilion as VVS Laxman caught Paine at second slip.
