MMS tragedy: After girl kills self, police nab offender
Siliguri, West Bengal : A student of the Siliguri Polytechnic Institute, wanted on charges of circulating an obscene MMS of a girl classmate who later committed suicide, has been arrested from a railway station in West Bengal, reports said on Sunday.
Anindya Garai, a second year-student of the Institute, had been hiding in Madhya Pradesh after police was on the look for him following an FIR by the victim a month back.
Anindya was nabbed at the Burdwan railway station on Saturday when he had come by train to receive money from his father.
Police was tracking Anindya?s father to apprehend Anindya.
Anindya had allegedly drugged the girl at his room and filmed an obscene film, which he later circulated through YouTube and video dealers.
Two video dealers, Ayan Sarkar and Tapas Singha, were also arrested on Saturday from outskirts of Siliguri in this connection.
The victim, a resident of Pradhan Nagar of Siliguri, had hanged herself last week as the police was not being able to nab Anindya, against whom she had filed a blackmailing complaint.
