Adarsh promoters to move HC against MMRDA, BEST
As authorities have warned of cutting electricity and water supply to the controversy-shrouded Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society, the promoters of the Society have decided to approach the Bombay High Court.
The promoters have decided to move the High Court against Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), reports said on Monday.
While the MMRDA had revoked the occupation certificates (OC) issued to the members of the Society on the instructions of chief minister Ashok Chavan after the controversy erupted, the BEST has demanded the OC to continue electricity supply.
The Society will file a petition in the Court against the decision of the authorities as well as against the media for tarnishing their image, media reports, quoting promoters of the Society, said.
The promoters marinated that the land neither belonged to the Defence nor it was reserved for the Kargil war heroes. It was a State Government plot.
A major controversy has erupted after it was revealed that civilians as well as other kin of politicians were given flats at the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society, which was purportedly built for Kargil war widows.
