Two Kashmir militants killed in encounter

Srinagar : Two insurgents were killed in an encounter with security forces in south Kashmir’s Shopian district in the early hours on Tuesday, police said.

The gun fighting ensued when a security patrol came under attack by the militants and the jawans opened fire in retaliation.

Two attackers were shot dead while the rest fled.

The identity of the slain militants and their affiliation could not be ascertained immediately as a search operation in the area was on.
