Indian Rowers bag two silver medals for India

Guangzhou : Indian rowers bagged two silver medals in the men’s four and lightweight four teams in the Asian Games here on Thursday.

The quartet, Anil Kumar, Saji Thomas, Ranjit Singh and Jenil Krishna won the silver in the men’s four team event finishing a distance of 2000m in 6:16.79.

China (6:06.40) won the gold while Uzbekistan grabbed the bronze with a timing of 6:22.70.

In the men’s lightweight four event, India’s Lokesh Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Rajesh Kumar Yadav and Satish Joshi rowed second with a timing of 6:13.32.

In this event Japan took the yellow metal with 6:10.14 timing and Hong Kong came third.
