CWG Scam : Decisions were taken jointly, says Lalit Bhanot
Commonwealth Games Organising Committee secretary Lalit Bhanot, whose house was raided by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials on Tuesday, said that he will cooperate in the investigations.
“The CBI team came in the morning and they wanted to search the house, they did it, they were very nice and professional. They did their job and whatever they wanted to see we showed them. We were transparent totally,” said Bhanot.
The CBI raided 11 premises in the national capital, including the residences of Bhanot and OC Director General V.K.Verma in connection with the alleged financial irregularities in Rs.107 crore contract for the Games’ result update system.
“Whatever the decision (related to the Games), it has been jointly taken by the board, which includes government members as well as other members from various federations and the Olympic association?investigation is going on and whatever help they are asking we will extend,” Bhanot added.
Bhanot, who is also Secretary General of the Athletics Federation of India, said all the decisions related to the Commonwealth Games were taken keeping government officials in the loop.
“We were totally transparent. Whatever decision has been taken, it has been taken jointly by the Board and it includes the government members as well the members from various Federation and the Olympic Committee,” he said.
