A businessman, Binu Nanu, arrested in CWG scam

A businessman, Binu Nanu, was arrested on Tuesday by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for his involvement in the Commonwealth Games overlay scam.
A CBI special court remanded him in four days’ police custody, reports said.

Nanu, who is the director of GL Events – Meroform, has been accused by the CBI of paying huge amount of kickbacks to the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (CGOC) for contracts at exorbitant prices.

The CBI had earlier searched his offices and companies.

Nanu had admitted his offense which brings CGOC Chairman Suresh Kalamadi in focus, reports said.
