?My Stamp? at INDIPEX : A befooling gimmick by department of posts
Indian Posts Department had introduced a new ?My Stamp? concept at recently concluded INDIPEX-2011 at New Delhi by publicizing portraying pictures of individuals on postage-stamps. Charges were rupees 150 for a 12-stamp sheet of rupees five each. But it was disappointing to note that perforated stamp-sheets had photos of individuals separated through perforation from actual stamps thereby altogether negating concept of ?My Stamp?. At least government-departments are never expected of adopting such befooling tactics to en-cash philatelic hobby of citizens.
Indian Posts Department should make a refund of rupees 90 per sheet charged extra in name of printing postage-stamps with photos of those paying extra for their photos to be printed on stamps. Or else, new stamp-sheets by properly inserting photos on un-perforated stamps should be sent to those having paid rupees 150 for stamp-sheet with face-value of just rupees 60.
