Accused-friendly system makes victim’s mother commit suicide

It refers to mother of Geetika Sharma committing suicide just six months after her daughter took such step both allegedly having done so because of Haryana’s ex-Minister Gopal Kanda who still commands whole-hearted support in the ruling party including also from ministers.

It remains a matter of shame that no action was taken against Congress-men having celebrated birthday of the influential accused with a minister Shiv Charan Sharma even publicly insulting the deceased victim to flatter his jailed associate. Rather Haryana Chief Minister deserved sacking because of having patronized ever-erring Gopal Kanda in his ministry even before suicide by Geetika Sharma, and ignoring his glorification by his minister and other party-members now during his imprisonment. It was Haryana Police who gave an easy escape-route to Gopal Kanda for absconding just after suicide by Geetika Sharma.

Circumstances leading to mother of Geetika Sharma now committing suicide establish that Gopal Kanda has proved his influence on a system which also includes judicial, legal, political and investigative that the case could not move further after media’s attention deviated from the case. After all judicial officers are also normal human-beings coming from the same society which has both persons of integrity and flexibility. A complete enquiry should be ordered to expose the nexus with case handed over immediately to CBI.

Ultimate clean chit to accused in similar Ruchika Girotra case creates suspicion about this case also meeting some similar end. Changed circumstances in this case make a strong base to make this a test-case to be decided at supersonic speed. Criminalization in politics, requires fast-track courts to be especially set up for such accused that are part of legislative system.
