Mobile, radio, computer are names of instruments, right ? No. In a valley in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, these are also the names of people.
People living in Kalash Valley name their children after household items, reported the daily Dawn.
Qudratullah, a development worker, was quoted as saying that in some cases, children have been named balti (bucket), glass and cooker.
The parents here also like naming their children after things new to them — like telephone and computer.
There is more.
People are also named Number-One, Mobile, Radio, Cassette and Akhbar (newspaper).
Not to forget, there is a boy named Pepsi.
