Encourage Ramlila artists

Some prominent newspaper-groups induce healthy competition amongst various Ramlilas staged in Delhi and adjoining areas of National Capital Region (NCR) during Navratras by prizing them in accordance to ratings made by a panel of prominent personalities. Unlike in earlier times, now-a-days Ramlila artists are mostly educated and a talent hurt is made by the organisers especially for artists in key-roles like Ram and Sita. It will rather be in interest of producers of films and TV serials from Bollywood if they watch performance of Ramlila-artists in Delhi to give selected ones chance to exhibit their talent nationwide through big and small screens.

Since even UNESCO has accepted Ramlila for its heritage list of ?Memory of World Register? by allocation of funds also, Union Ministry of Culture should also make every effort for preserving attraction of Delhi?s Ramlilas, and by encouraging their artists. For example Delhi?s most popular Ramlila staged at Subhash Maidaan (Parade Grounds) in Old Delhi can be recorded in Book of Records (Guinness and Limca) for being continuously staged by the same group of artists from Moradabad now for 42 years and the same person Radhyeyshyam Sharma playing impressive role of Ravana now for 34th year without a break!
