Hiking Diesel Price

Hiking diesel-price rather than increasing excise-duty on diesel cars is like watering leaves rather than roots. Auto-manufacturers’ instant welcome to price-hike of diesel tends to establish that the decision was taken for comfort of car-manufacturing companies which were finding sale of petrol-cars difficult.

With procurement price of both diesel and petrol almost same, diesel was lower priced because of its use in public-transport. Using diesel in cars is misuse of a lower-price facility for public-transport, which could be discouraged better by having double rate of excise duty on diesel-cars.

Instead of encouraging black-market cooking gas by rationing gas-cylinders, gradual abolition of subsidy on LPG cylinders could be in larger interest of national economy by having a uniform consumer-price of rupees five hundred per cylinder (inclusive of local taxes) but only after introducing new-to-be-introduced transparent gas-cylinders.
