Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has emerged as a political hero in New Bihar where voters of all cast, religion and gender have voted for his politics of development rather than that of dynasty and cast. His predecessors had burdened the state with many elephant-like useless expenses which are of no use of public-good. Nitish Kumar should take initiative to give this country a new lead by abolishing upper House in the state which is nothing but rehabilitation centre for defeated politicians and favourites of political bosses. It may be recalled that just after post-emergency period of 1975-77 era, similar initiative was taken when Vidhhan Parishads remained in just five states. But this political nuisance has since been revived in many other states now.
Lalu Prasad Yadav had gifted himself for all post-defeat (retirement) life-time benefits like government accommodation, secretariat etc for being an ex-Chief Minister. Nitish Kumar should withdraw all post-retirement facilities to ex Chief Ministers and others. Ideal will be to abolish pension to MLAs. 50-percent reservation to women has made women voters turn out in record number to vote for Nitish Kumar. It is time that Bihar assembly may pass resolution expressing its solidarity with Women Reservation Bill which could not be passed till now because of rejected leaders like Lau Yadav. It is time that Bihar may return to its ancient past of golden era to lead the nation by such sunami of political reforms.
