Sacking corrupt ones not enough
If Ashok Chavan and Suresh Kalmadi are not guilty for corruption, then it was totally unfair to sack them from their posts only because of pressure from opposition and media. However if they are sacked from their posts for their guilt, then mere sacking is not enough. Normally police takes into custody of persons involved in petty crimes of even some hundred rupees. Are there two sets of law and action in this country, one for poor and the other one for rich and influential? Influential and rich ones suspected for big scams and scandals should also be immediately arrested and shown on TV screens in jail-uniform doing tough jobs like baking breads, cleaning toilets etc to practically frighten others from being involved in corrupt practices.
Only a fear psychology developed through stringent penalties right up to death-sentence can prevent ever-rising corruption. Monetary amounts involved in scams and scandals should be basis for punishments like death-sentence, life-imprisonment and other subsequent lower jail-sentence apart from confiscating properties of corrupt persons and their family members. Cases especially involving elected representatives should be decided at super-fast speed to be decided at every court-stage in a time-bound manner on basis of day-to-day hearing avoiding any postponements or long dates.
