Welcome release of Aung San Suu Kyi in Myanmar

Release of Aung San Suu Kyi in Myanmar just after mention of India?s desired role in the matter in speech of US President Barrack Obama in Indian Parliament poses greater and responsible role for India in global leadership at a time when India is aspiring of a permanent seat at UN Security Council, But before this, India needs to make its own democracy qualitative and honest too which is presently just quantitative and notorious for money-minting scams and scandals involving even political rulers.

India should give a role-model of democratic system to other countries where fixed-term legislatures avoiding hung legislatures may be avoided by electing Prime Minister/Chief Ministers by secret and compulsory voting by all members through EVMs on nominations signed by at least one-third members. Such an elected leader may only be removed by same process but with compulsion to name alternate leader in the same motion. Moreover only persons having not contested any election in last six years may be made ministers (and Prime Minister/Chief Ministers) to make MPs/MLAs serving as watchdog on such appointed ministers rather than lobbying themselves for lucrative ministerial posts. System will play down role of ever blackmailing regional parties in national politics. Similar other reforms in poll-system should be part of model democracy to be gifted by India to other countries.
