Who will pay IAF Dues?

It refers to controversy over payment of IAF dues towards the then Prime Minister HD Devegowda heading a Jantda Dal government when it is now revealed that more than 50-percent of total about rupees 54 lakhs were bills pertaining to the then Union Civil Aviation Minister CM Ibrahim of Devegowda government. Only Prime Ministers and Defence Ministers are allowed to use IAF planes for non-official purposes. Therefore it becomes yet other fault on part of the then Prime Minister that his Civil Aviation Minister could use IAF planes. Ultimate responsibility of payment should rest with a Prime Minister because IAF planes are allowed because of security of head of the government. Otherwise also in Indian political scenario, splits of political parties are quite common. Already IAF had to lose more than rupees 5 crores for unpaid bills of the then Prime Minister Chandrashekhar because of his death.

Union government should immediately provide for disqualification of the concerned individuals (the then Prime Ministers and Defence Ministers) and political parties (including split-groups) to contest elections. Moreover all pensions and post-retirement benefits including government accommodations and staff should be withdrawn till all government-dues are cleared. For future, rule should be for advance-deposit for non-official use of IAF planes.
