Women in advertisements

Union government in recent past has banned advertisements of products like under-wears using undesirable sexy pictures showing bad taste towards women. Many-a-times, products with such advertisements later banned by Union Ministry of Information & Broadcast get added and free publicity because of being in news. Union I&B Ministry should also ensure that liquor-companies like Kingfisher may be effectively checked to misuse women as show-pieces in their calendars and diaries.

Union Health Minister has also taken up issue of surrogate advertisements for harmful products like liquor or tobacco products with Union I&B Minister. Interestingly total advertisement-cost on items which are used to promote company?s brand-name in many cases is even more than total sale-amount of advertised products clearly hinting at indirect advertisements of liquor or tobacco-products. Even many such advertised items are distributed free with main liquor or tobacco-products.
