The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday quizzed Unitech Managing Director Sanjay Chandra in the 2G spectrum allocation scam probe, TV reports said.
According to CNN IBN, Chandra reportedly said that Unitech has nothing to hide and that the company has “provided all records for examination.”
Following the arrest of Swan telecom promoter Shahid Balwa, all eyes were on Unitech which according to CBI sold 60 per cent of its shares after obtaining 2G licence to Norway-based Telenor.
The company reportedly sold 2G licences it got for Rs 1658 crore (22 circles) for Rs 6,100 crore to Telenor.
According to the reports by the probe agencies, the loss to the national exchequer from Swan and Unitech it to the tune of Rs. 7,105 crore.
A report by government’s auditor CAG has put the 2G telecom scandal at Rs 1. 76 lakh crore (about 40 billion USD).
