India on Monday signed two loan agreements with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for two energy projects in Himachal Pradesh and Assam.
The loan amount for ?Himachal Pradesh Clean Energy Development Investment Programme? is USD 208 million and that for ?Assam Power Sector Enhancement Programme? is USD 89.7 million.
The Himachal funding will be utilised for partial funding for stages II & III of the Integrated Kashang Hydroelectric Project totaling 195 megawatt located in Kinnaur district, and for the 100 megawatt Sainj Hydroelectric Project located in Kullu district.
The Assam loan will assist to build six new substations, construct 342 km of transmission lines and augment 11 existing substations.
