Chennai : AirAsia, a leading low-cost airline, on Monday announced that it will increase its frequency on the Kuala Lumpur – Chennai route through the addition of four more flights commencing January 21, 2011.
With these new additions, AirAsia will now operate a total of 11 flights weekly from Chennai and a total of 114 weekly flights from India.
AirAsia currently serves this route with a direct daily flight to Chennai departing from the LCC Terminal; Kuala Lumpur on AirAsia’s spanking 180-seater Airbus A320.
Kathleen Tan, Regional Head of Commercial, AirAsia said, “We feel that it is timely to add a 2nd frequency and this is certainly a reinforcement of our growing interest in the Indian market.”
To celebrate the introduction of the 2nd Kuala Lumpur -Chennai frequency, AirAsia will be offering all-in-fare from RM 149 (INR 2,999) one-way.
Booking period for the introduction of the 2nd frequency is from 16 – 21 November for the travel period from January 21, 2011 – Jun 30, 2011.
