Flipkart presents TiE-Aspire Young Achiever awards
New Delhi : The New Delhi chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and Aspire, a capital management venture, along with Flipkart, one of the country’s largest e-commerce brands, presented the fourth TiE-Aspire Young Achiever Awards to three trailblazers here on Saturday.
Lord Karan Billimoria, chairman of the UK-India Business Council and Cobra Beer, gave away the awards to Arunima Sinha, trekker and national level soccer and volleyball player; Utsav Lal, pianist and Kishan Shrikanth, actor and film director, at the TiEcon 2012.
These awards carry e-gift vouchers worth Rs.one lakh each.
Sinha, 26, climbed 21,110 ft of Mount Chhamser Kangri in spite of an amputated leg.
She had to undergo amputation of her left leg after being thrown out of a running train in Bareilly for resisting chain-snatchers.
Her passion and undying will has become a source of inspiration for all people with disabilities.
Gurgaon-based pianist Utsav Lal, 20, has earned the unique title of ‘Raga Pianist’ by successfully creating pure sounds of Indian ragas on the piano and has won international acclaim and awards for his pioneering foray.
He has presented over 150 concerts of Indian music at worldwide venues and festivals since the age of nine years, according to a TiE statement.
Kishan Shrikanth, 16, who bagged the third prize, is an actor, film director, editor, sound and visual effects engineer.
He has been recognized as one of top 15 genius children on the Oprah Winfrey show and holds the Guinness Record for being the World’s Youngest feature film director, directing a feature film at age nine.
Kishan is currently pursuing masters in multimedia and animation and doing research in the field of holography and optical illusion.
The three young achievers shared their experiences.

The last year’s TiE-Aspire Achievers were Anu Vaidyanathan, a triathlete; Deeya S. Bajaj, cross country skier and kayaker and trekker Sucheta Kadethankar.
