Honda India launched the automatic version of Honda Brio hatchback in Indian markets today with a pretty decent price tag of Rs. 5.74 lakh. The car will be available in the markets in two variants: Honda Brio S (O) AT and V AT and the prices will be Rs. 5.74 lakh and Rs. 5.99 lakh, respectively. As expected, the Honda Brio AT sports a 5-speed automatic transmission gearbox, the first in its class. Honda Cars India launched another Brio model, the Honda Brio EX, a manual variant of the car. The total number of Brio variants available in the market now goes up to a total of seven. The Brio S (O) AT and V AT are the only two variants with automatic transmission; the rest of the models will host a manual transmission gearbox. Given the launch of these new spruced up Brio variants, it will be pretty easy for the company to attain its sales target. It is a known fact that Honda was looking to increase its market share by introducing some fresh models and also add to its diesel line-up in India to deal with the competition posed by Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki and other popular cars in the country.
The all new Honda Brio AT is about Rs. 70,000 costlier as compared to its manual version, which seems to be quite reasonable. Moving on to the specifications and features of the newly launched automatic version of Honda Brio, it features a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder, SOHC i-VTEC engine. It is displaced at 1198cc. However, the maximum power generated by the vehicle is 86.24bhp at 6000rpm and offers a maximum torque of around 109Nm at 4500rpm. As mentioned before, the hatchback is mated with 5-speed automatic transmission gearbox, which certainly increases the performance allowing the driver to go for a stress-free ride under heavy traffic conditions. However, the company claimed that the newly launched automatic version would give away just about 16.5 Kmpl of average mileage, which is satisfying. Talking about the Honda Brio AT braking system, it is fitted with disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear for superior cont
The company launched Honda Brio AT in mid and top end variants and hence some of its features will differ when compared to each other. The top end version Honda Brio V AT comes with alloy wheels, fog lamps and silver inside door handles but these are missing in the mid range Brio S(O) AT version. However, Brio S(O) AT will feature full trim wheels, which are missed in the top end variant. These are the only difference in between the top end version and mid range version of Brio hatchback. Other than that, both, Honda Brio S(O) AT and V AT, are equipped with superior safety features such as ABS with EBD, immobilizer, front driver i-SRS and passenger SRS airbags, high mount stop lamp and more. When it comes to the interior features, the vehicle has been spruced up with an advanced audio system from Honda with audio controls on steering wheels, front and rear speakers among other important features.
