Hyundai recently announced that they are going to bring in back the Hyundai Elantra in India. However, this time, it is coming in Hyundai’s Fluidic sculpture. The car has been selling in international markets successfully for quite some time and after getting good response from all around the globe, the company has decided to launch it in the country.
Hyundai has already started booking of the car at Rs. 25000 lately, but hasn’t announced the launch date yet. Our own resources at Hyundai hinted that the launch will take place on 13th August in the capital city New Delhi.
Hyundai is going to launch this sedan in both petrol and diesel variants. There will be total six variants out of which three will be petrol variants namely, base variant VTVT S, mid-level variant VTVT SX and high end variant VTVT SX Optional, and three diesel variants namely, base variant CRDI S, mid-level variant CRDI SX and high end variant CRDI SX optional. The car will house a 1.8-litre Nu petrol engine which will churn out 150PS of power and 177Nm of torque and 1.8-litre CRDI diesel engine.
The new Elantra will come full of features and equipment like a touchscreen infotainment system with sat-nav and Bluetooth, heated door mirrors and steering wheel, ventilated front seats, electric front seats with driver’s seat memory function, dual zone climate control, cruise control, leather upholstery, keyless entry, start/stop function, front and rear parking sensors, automatic hill hold function and panoramic sunroof. The car will also have safety features like Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with EBD and seven airbags as standard, including a driver’s knee airbag, with these active security features there will be a lot of passive features also present in the car.
The car will likely to be priced in between 13 to 16 lakhs. It will be placed in D segment in the competition of Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Superb, Renault Fluence and Chevrolet Cruze. After Hyundai Verna’s success the company is expecting high with this premium sedan.
