New Delhi : India on Tuesday night slammed Pakistan for passing resolutions in its National Assembly and Senate on protest-hit Jammu and Kashmir, saying that Pakistan has no locus stand to interfere in India’s internal affairs.
The Official Spokesperson of India’s External Affairs Ministry said in a statement: ?We have seen reports of resolutions on Jammu & Kashmir that have been passed in the National Assembly and the Senate of Pakistan. We reject these resolutions.”
The resolutions adopted in Pakistan supported the ongoing protests in Jammu and Kashmir and condemned the “violence” against people in Indian Kashmir.
“They have no locus standi on what is purely an internal affair of India,” the MEA spokesperson said. .
“Pakistan should tackle the issues of constitutional safeguards, democracy, extremism, terrorism and human rights violations in the part of Jammu & Kashmir under its illegal occupation,” he said.
“In the spirit of true rationality, India desires good neighbourly relations with Pakistan. We are committed to resolving all outstanding issues through dialogue,” he said.
“Crucially, Pakistan must fulfill its stated commitment of not allowing territory under its control to be used for terrorism directed against India in any manner.?
In an ongoing separatist backed anti-India protest in Kashmir valley more than 105 people were killed since June 11.
An all-party delegation of mainstream Indian political parties toured the state for two days to understand the situation.
