Mumbai : Visa Power Ltd. (VPL), a Visa Steel and Power Group company, placed an order on Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the execution of Balance of Plant (BOP) package for their 2×600 MW Power Plant being set up in Raigarh-Chhattisgarh.
The value of contract is INR 1,610 crores and will be commissioned within 29 – 32 months. The project was won following an International Competitive Bidding process involving several domestic BOP bidders, said L&T on Monday.
Under this BOP contract, to be executed on EPC basis, L&T will design, engineer, supply, erect & commission complete Balance of Plant and also provide all associated services.
The scope of work includes BTG & BOP civil, structural & architectural works; Coal and Ash handling plants, Chimney, Induced Draft Cooling Towers, Switchyard & BOP electrical, Ash pond & water reservoir etc. L&T is a leading supplier of several of these packages which are engineered & manufactured in-house.
The INR 1,610 crores order from VISA Power Ltd. follows a recent order for Rs 6,500 crores received last month from Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd. (JPVL), a Jaiprakash Group Power Company for 3×660 MW supercritical Boiler ? Steam Turbine Generator Package Karchana power project.
