L&T to get billing solution for Saudi Electricity

Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) and L&T Infotech, a global IT services and solutions provider, on Saturday signed an agreement under which the latter will implement an end-to-end integrated fully functional, secure, bilingual (Arabic / English) enterprise solution for metering, billing, account receivables, Customer Relationship Management and financial management systems.

This will automate and integrate business processes, embed transaction-processing controls and provide appropriate reports to facilitate decision-making and smooth functioning of SEC.

The agreement was signed by Ali S Al Barrak, Chief Executive Officer, on behalf of SEC; and by Makarand Deolalkar, Executive Vice President and Global Head, Energy & Utilities, on behalf of L&T Infotech.

SEC’s operations span the entire Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the company is committed to providing its customers with safe, reliable electricity services.

According to a report by Energycustomerservice.co.uk, SEC aims to establish interconnected electric grids throughout the Kingdom to keep pace with the growing demand for electric power. Moreover, it has ambitious plans to participate in electric power generation, transmission, and distribution projects in the international markets.

‘This order will pave the way to strengthening our presence in the region. While executing this order, we will not only leverage our Business-to-IT Connect, but will also draw on L&T Group’s extensive experience in the energy sector in India and globally,’ said Sudip Banerjee, Chief Executive Officer, L&T Infotech.

‘The enterprise solution will help us to upgrade the level of services delivered to our diverse customer segments,’ said Ali S Al Barrak, Chief Executive Officer of SEC.

L&T Infotech’s proposed solution caters to SEC’s requirement of fully bilingual integrated solution which includes display, dual calendar, currency symbol, data entry, online help, etc. The implementation of this solution will cover the Head Office as well as the Eastern, Central, Western and Southern Operating Areas.
