Maruti Targeting Sub 2 lakh price for upcoming Alto 800

CarDekho is constantly reporting on Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming 800cc car which will take place of its bread and butter car Maruti 800. We were the first to reveal the pictures of upcoming Maruti Alto 800 in the industry and now we have got news that the Maruti Suzuki is targeting a price under Rs. 2 lakhs for this car.

A sub Rs. 2 lakhs price will make the new Alto 800 cheaper than the existing Alto around by Rs. 40000. With this price the new Alto 800 will fall into in budget car segment and where Tata Nano will be the biggest competitor for this car.

The new Alto 800 will be based on the existing Alto’s platform but it has a complete new design and style. The car gets a new front fascia which is seems to be inspired by Maruti Suzuki A-Star, it comes with new small front grille with pulled back headlamps.

The rear of the car also seems to be derived from the A-star, with vertical integrated tail lights and boot-lid. The interiors have been completely revamped, head rests now come integrated into the front seats just like Hyundai i10 and it looks a bit spacious than the existing Alto.

The new Alto 800 is likely to be powered by the same 796cc three-cylinder motor (F8D) from the Alto which has been tweaked to meet the latest BSIV emission standards.

Maruti Suzuki was going to launch this car on the upcoming festive season but after the Manesar tragedy they might postpone the launch. But still there are hope that the launch will take place on the due date. For now, the sub Rs. 2 lakhs price is a good news for all Maruti and Alto fans.
