New Delhi : The total approximate earnings of Indian Railways on originating basis during the period from 11th to 20th November 2010 were Rs. 2606.75 crore compared to Rs. 2359.50 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 10.48 per cent.
The total goods earnings have gone up from Rs. 1621.37 crore during the period from 11th to 10th November 2009 to Rs. 1742.61 crore during 11th November to 20th November 2010, showing an increase of 7.48 per cent.
The total passenger revenue earnings during the period 11th to 20th November 2010 were Rs. 771.24 crore compared to Rs. 653.21 crore during the same period last year, reflecting an increase of 18.07 per cent.
The revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to Rs. 68.89 crore during this period compared to Rs. 62.42 crore during the same period last year, showing an increase of 10.37 per cent.
The total approximate number of passengers booked during the period 11th to 20th November 2010 were 222.00 million compared to 198.61 million during the same period last year, showing an increase of 11.78 per cent.
In the suburban and non-suburban sectors, the number of passengers booked during 11th to 20th November, 2010 were 112.44 million and 109.56 million compared to 104.08 million and 94.53 million during the same period last year, registering an increase of 8.03 per cent and 15.90 per cent respectively.
